This takes place in a very similar world, in all ways except that people's bodies slowly fade and vanish after they die. A theory that, people don't actually die, but they reach a point of such wisdom and knowledge that their heart rate and thought processes, everything in and of them accelerates permanently to near light speed. This causes the people to move so fast that they can't be seen UNLESS they stay still for what is a very long time to them. So to them, everyone in the world moves very slowly. However, there are also very unique elements of nature and technology that only they can see and interact with because these things, too, move at near-light speed. Ideas include islands in the sea that move, floating lands in the sky, special plants and animals that also move at near-light speed, and special things like different forms of precipitation like strange, streaking, and possibly colorful and lighting (not lightning) snow. So, because of this, there are whole civilizations both on earth and, for the older of the near-light speed beings, civiliz- ations in space, as well as many discovered truths about space and time. The progression of the Earth's changes, to them seems very very slow, however there are parts of the Earth, nature, and land that are only visible to them, and happen fairly quickly to them. In normal or "first" time, the person's heart beats so fast right after they die and before they fade that it seems motionless. A similar concept except the opposite, that some people also slow down immensely after "death" to the point that they move so slow that their heart seems motionless. To these beings, everything moves very quickly, so they are able to see the events of normal or first-time Earth happening very quickly (to them) and thus gain very much knowledge.
