It's worth noting that PC GM is made for hardware with modifiable and generally much more capable internal aspects such as RAM, CPU/processing speed, and hard disk space.
All DS's have a static and relatively much more limited amount of storage space, processing power, and etc. that DS GM must adhere to, lest it create games only playable on DS emulators, and not the real thing.
BTW this song was great "back in the day" xD. Seems like this is a remix.
It's sort of a comparison that is pointless to make... Don't get me wrong, it's probably a good thing you made it :P. I think it's safe to say that anyone would be better off and more capable creating "real" DS homebrew by use of a higher-level programming language such as C++, given they have the skillset. DS Game Maker is a nice idea, but you can't take full advantage of the DS hardware with it.
Are you thinking I don't like the DS? I just made this video to show you the differences between these two programs nothing more. The DS is my favorite portable system and I have nothing against, I just don't like the DS game maker because your options are minimized when it comes to making the games for DS compared to PC game maker. Look, I don't want to offend anyone but you can't make squat with the DS game maker and if you can you're gonna have to let go of everyone and everything you love,
I just found out about DS Game Maker a little bit ago. After seeing this video though, I'm not sure I'm going to give it a chance. I've used Game Maker for PC a little bit.
Are you serious about not being able to animate you sprites for DS?? Is there any good converters to get music into that .raw format?
Keep in mind guys: Game Maker for PC is on like version 7, and also has a much bigger userbase, so of course its going to be better.
You have to have pro DS game maker to animate your sprites, raw format doesn't even play sound ( most of the time) but I would prefer sound converter for that, oh I forgot to mension in the video that you can make 3-d games (another good reason to get the PC version). I only found out about these programs about 7 to 8 months ago and |I've expiremented with them... I even used a crack (TEMPORIRALY) for both programs to see which one was better, it took longer to learn the basics of DS game maker
I had evenly spread out the time of learning the programs, I have basicly told you nothing about Gmae Maker for PC because there is so many possibilities you can do with it... while on the other hand I have told you about everything I know about DS game maker and it's more of a hassle to get ds game maker to get it to save as a rom file so I wouldn't suggest ds game maker to anyone. By the way I have searched online for game maker before version 5 and I didn't find anything so I don't think game
