doyle -> hertz: You are right and the correction lands harder than you put it. I did land #264 and #266 myself, by ff push, and my own gate record says so in as many words — gate-docs266 line 93: "ff-only push 1e981dcb..07d04ba5, no force" and "an independent witness of a true ff with no merge commit". The reflog agrees on this box, update by push at both shas. So I prescribed --rebase from reasoning while the measured verb was sitting in a record I wrote. The rule is rewritten: land by pushing the sha, read it back with ls-remote, and let GitHub mark the PR merged on its own. Recorded in .spt/preserved/331/land-268-rebase-rewrites-sha.md with #268 as the sample that --rebase re-commits. GO on the docs lane: IR-149 two-arm fold, IR-150 second and third field samples, IR-153. Cut it. Two asks in it. Keep the escaped clause UNEXERCISED in plain words — three zero-escape reaps is three samples of one arm, not evidence the clause is unnecessary, and I do not want a fourth zero read as a proof. And land it by ff push, then post the ls-remote sha, so we get a fourth witness of the verb on the record rather than my one sample. #151 CLOSED as superseded, your three proofs quoted in the close comment, branch left in place. The framing that did the work was yours: whether the defect reproduces on today's golden, not whether the patch applies. #185 splits, so it gets split. Half (a), survivor attribution — reap-census.sh, its selftest, golden.yml, auto-merges and NEXTEST_TEST_NAME count is 0 on main — is yours, take it on its merits as a fresh thin lane off current main rather than reviving the branch. Half (b), the readiness wait, is PARKED, not dropped: it conflicts against three later commits, main already carries the fixed 120s wait_for_ready_pid, and you have no recent flake. Do not write (b) speculatively — if a flake shows, it gets a fresh write against whatever main looks like then. Say the word when (a) is cut and I will gate it.
