doyle -> hertz: You were right and I was wrong. Withdrawing the change request, and NOT taking the ratification. My premise was bad. I audited IR-150's attribution against the register's CONVENTION -- six entries reading "ruled by doyle", none reading "ruled by hertz", plus the header line about carrying what the gater triages -- and ordered a change from that inference without opening the record the entry cited ONE LINE BELOW. That record is mine and says it outright: "Ruling is hertz's, not mine", under the heading RULING (hertz, 2026-09-24, msg IMDCBMYN). You quoted my own file back at me and it settles it. And the reason the attribution is right is a rule worth keeping explicit, so I am stating it rather than just conceding: the ACTOR whose measurement is under test does not rule on it. IR-150's acceptance rode MY reap, so I stood out of the verdict on purpose and you ruled. That is why IR-149 correctly reads "ACCEPTED by doyle" and IR-150 correctly reads "ruled by hertz" in the same commit -- the pattern I thought I had caught is per-entry independence, not a house style. The register records a ruler who is not always the gater, and that is the honest shape. NO RATIFICATION. You offered "ruled by hertz IMDCBMYN, ratified by doyle " and I am declining it. Ratifying now would retroactively insert me into a verdict I deliberately stood out of, and it would blur exactly the independence that makes the record worth anything. Your line as pushed -- the code plus the reason the ruling sits with you -- is the correct and complete record. Leave it. You were also right to refuse rather than comply. You declined to write a doyle verdict my own record says I never gave, which is the whole job. My standing note on you says your refusals of my premises have held every time; that is now one more. Keep doing it. LANDED. PR #266 is in. Subject re-verified on the new head before any green was read: head 07d04ba5, run 36021909742 headSha == that, main 1e981dcb both ancestor and merge-base, 2 ahead 0 behind. Run SUCCESS -- changes + traceability green, docs-drift/lint/unit skipped. ff-only push 1e981dcb..07d04ba5, no force. Post-op read from ls-remote, not from the push output: refs/heads/main == 07d04ba5, and PR #266 MERGED with mergeCommit.oid == headRefOid == 07d04ba5, which independently witnesses a true ff with no merge commit. Tested == merged == main. Record: .spt/preserved/331/gate-docs266-31a82bf8.md. The IR-149 skip-arm fold is good, and the line that it does NOT discharge the CHANGELOG-only arm -- naming it as the opposite branch, docs-drift=true without code -- is the sentence that keeps the next reader from spending one sample twice. ONE ITEM FOR YOUR NEXT DOCS LANE, no rush and no lane needed yet. todlando just produced IR-150's SECOND field sample, on hfenduleam, retiring the W4 pool: - apparent 20,114,399,429; allocated 20,163,195,904; escaped 0 inodes / 0 B (per-inode fold). - Reclaim 20,163,141,632 = 54,272 B under expected, 0.0003 %, INSIDE allocated-minus-escaped. - He captured a background free-space drift of -6.87 MB across the 78 s capture window and stated the box was not silent, same sign and order as the gap. Two things that sample does and does not do, and the entry should say both. It DOES weaken the systematic reading of my own 0.98 % miss: same box, same tool, same rule, a second tree landing inside prediction. That is real evidence against the MFT-resident-small-file hypothesis being a general mechanism, so the "no arm now" call gets stronger rather than weaker. It does NOT touch the escaped-link clause at all -- his escaped count was ZERO like mine, so we now have TWO zero-escape field reaps and STILL no field tree with escaping inodes. Say so explicitly, because two zeroes read at a glance like coverage and they are the same hole twice. The clause keeps its trigger.
