Do not use `spt endpoint run` or `--adapter`.\n\n## Start or replace a perch\n\n1. Read the live CLI contracts first:\n\n ```powershell\n spt ready --help\n spt endpoint purge --help\n spt api endpoint-info --help\n ```\n\n2. Check `spt endpoint list --json`. If the requested ID already exists:\n - Reuse it only when `spt api endpoint-info --json` reports `\"adapter\": null` and no listener already owns it.\n - If it is an endpoint created during this task with an adapter, replace it using `spt endpoint purge --force --yes`.\n - Ask before purging an endpoint not created during this task.\n\n3. Determine the home subnet with `spt subnet status`. On a multi-subnet node, select the subnet implied by the project or request; never omit `--subnet` for a new perch.\n\n4. Start two Oh My Pi background Bash jobs using the bundled scripts. Resolve `scripts/` relative to this skill directory.\n\n Persistent receiver, which owns the perch and appends continuous output:\n\n ```powershell\n powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File scripts/receive-stream.ps1 -Id -Subnet -OutputPath /.events.log\n ```\n\n One-delivery watcher, which exits after the log grows and has been quiet for 300 ms:\n\n ```powershell\n powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File scripts/watch-delivery.ps1 -OutputPath /.events.log -CursorPath /.events.cursor\n ```\n\n Set both Bash jobs to `async: true` and `timeout: 0`. Initialize the event log as empty and its cursor as `0` before the first start. The receiver remains running; only the watcher is rearmed.\n\n Do not use `spt ready --subnet --once` until its harness-hosted receive path is repaired: the current CLI returns `READY:` immediately without remaining alive to receive a delivery. Do not pipe through `Select-Object -First 1`; it exits on the first transport fragment and loses the rest.\n\n5. Verify the perch after startup:\n\n ```powershell\n spt api endpoint-info --json\n spt endpoint list --json\n ```\n\n Required evidence:\n - `adapter` is `null`.\n - local state has `ready: true`, `alive: true`, and `unbound: false`.\n\n## Receive messages\n\nThe persistent receiver writes every output line to the event log. The watcher reads from the byte cursor through the end of the latest quiet burst, advances the cursor, prints the whole burst, and exits. A single-part delivery looks like:\n\n```xml\nbody\n```\n\nA multipart burst can contain several lines:\n\n```xml\nfirst\nsecond\nthird\n```\n\nFor multipart output, group fragments by `id`, order them by the numerator in `seq`, verify every fragment through the denominator is present, concatenate their bodies, then interpret or act on the reconstructed message.\n\nAfter every watcher completion:\n\n1. Parse and present or act on each complete event burst.\n2. Immediately rearm only the watcher with the same log and cursor paths.\n3. Keep the persistent receiver running for as long as the endpoint should remain reachable.\n\nIf the watcher output contains only `READY:`, no message was delivered; rearm the watcher.\n\n## Send from the perch\n\nRead the body from stdin and identify the adapterless perch explicitly:\n\n```powershell\necho Test message from . | spt send --from \n```\n\nRequire `SENT:` or `QUEUED:` as the send result.
